First post… I’ve been learning Swift, and as a C programmer who fell in love with Objective C a long time ago, I’ve just got to say … Meh. I enjoy Swift, but recent experiments with CoreMIDI have left me really wanting a plain old pointer. None of this unsafemutablepointer stuff. Can’t I have a pointer on the stack? Why does it need to be allocated?

I guess I’m just a C programmer at heart. I’m not sure I want the language to keep me from doing something dangerous.
